Q: Do you have a price list available? And other price related Questions. A: Yes we do. Please check out the Atlas Options page for a pretty inclusive price list. More detailed pricing is available upon request. *The Atlas Options page says the your price on a certain item such and such, is this true? Yep, it certainly is, we don't have any hidden fee's. *It says you charge for a remake, is this true? Yes it is, in order to keep my regular prices to minimum I have to charge a minimal amount for my labor on remakes. It will be on a per case basis, and generally it won't be that much. | Q: Who do you use for delivery/shipping? A: Currently: My two legs and UPS. | Q: What is your turnaround time? Why? A: Our turnaround time is 3 weeks. If you prep a patient on a Monday we will have the case back to you BEFORE the Monday in 3 weeks. This may be longer than you are used to, but can simplify scheduling, by enabling the patient to be scheduled on the same day of the week. *We have a rush case, do you do those? Of course we do, on a case by case basis, just give us a call. | Q: What exactly are your "Standards of Quality"? A: We adhere to strict standards here at Atlas Labs, mainly because we wouldn't want anything less in our mouths'. Standards of Quality - Our quality control includes a stringent checklist, before shipping to you.
- We wax, fit, and check margins under a 10x-20x powered stereoscopic microscope.
- We use shimstock to check occlusion, and practice advanced Dawson Occlusal theories.
- We use a solid tissue model to assist with soft tissue management, as well as correct contact placement and snugness. This is all done to allow for very minimal chairside adjustment.
- We use a natural glaze technique to maximaze refractive light within the porcelain for a brighter more alive appearance to our finished product.
| Q: What are your opinions of Outsourcing? A: Oh the tangled web... Currently outsourcing is a controversial practice that brings to mind sweat shops in overseas markets, and a failing job market in the US. I feel this is unwarrented, outsourcing in dentistry is not new, and most forms are generally accepted. Until now most forms have presented themselve in the form of US to US labs who have a particular technology, manufacturing any given resoration for another lab. The big kicker, hooplah or question now is the same use of foriegn dental labs, mainly due to the "unkown". Now if you order a product in the United States, by law, the lab has to provide you with what the materials ordered on the prescritpion. If the ever watchful eyes of the judicial system (yes I know lady justice is blind) can not see what is going on then how do we know everyone is getting the right thing? This is specifically why I won't use an asain laboratory for my outsourcing needs. The European lab we send to is North American owned and products are bought from here to go there. This is done specifaclly so we know what products are being used. I think outsourcing is getting a bad rap due to over-concerned and threatened lab owners. The face of business is changing and as business owners we must change with it as well. Outsourcing is a tool to keep overhead to a minumum and prices to you as low as possible. If used properly, as a tool to aid our industry, I think it is a great thing. | Q: Do you have a lab slip, online, that I can print? A: Yes we do, please check out our Links and Downloads page to find the word document or the adobe acrobat form that is compatible with your computer. And please don't forget to give a call to get more sent to you. |
